France continues rollout of solution to modernise emergency information systems

In France, the rollout of the national SI-SAMU programme is continuing with the deployment of the 12th SI-SAMU in the departments of Côte d’Or and Nièvre.

The programme focuses on supporting SAMUs (Service d’Aide Medicale d’Urgence) in their digital transformation, making products and services available to them to help support access to care and promote a “homogeneous quality service throughout the territory”.

The national solution offers health facilities and SAMUs access to technical and human resources that they “could not have in isolation”, offering infrastructure to support the load, strengthening security systems, supporting call routing, and offering access to technical expertise.

Products include the SI-SAMU portal, which supports collaboration and the exchange of information between emergency providers, as well as offering tools for managing “exceptional events”, such as a map of key locations.

The Côte d’Or and Nièvre departments are now equipped with the solution, with work to date including strengthening the coordination of medical emergencies in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, training 130 professionals in “just 15 days”, and putting in place infrastructure including a control room and a crisis room.

In other news from France, May, an app designed for future parents and offering medical messaging, pregnancy support and a range of health tools designed to “simplify your daily life”, has raised €7 million in funding to support expansion plans.
