US-based provider secures $180m for AI-powered precision surgery platform

Caresyntax, a US-based company specialising in surgical intelligence and automation technologies, has secured $180 million in funding for its AI-powered precision surgery platform.

Described as “a scalable, end-to-end software and AI platform”, Caresyntax’s solution captures and analyses large volumes of video, audio, images, clinical and operational data in and around operating rooms, and can be accessed by care teams live, during procedures, via secure cloud and telehealth links.

Reported outcomes include real-world evidence to help surgeons improve care and to boost the efficient use of resources, and insights to support medical device companies in developing their products.

The company shared its excitement to expand its AI-powered solutions and drive “the future of smarter, safer surgeries”, with co-founder and CEO Dennis Kogan stating that the financing “is not just an investment in Caresyntax, but an investment in the future of surgery. Together with our partners and investors, we are working towards deploying precision surgical tools, empowered by data and AI, to improve patient outcomes.”

Patrick Pfeffer, CEO at Aescuvest, one of the companies to invest in this latest funding round, commented that Caresyntax is “uniquely positioned to revolutionise the operating room” and to transform it into a “data lake”, helping to make surgeries “smarter, safer, and more broadly accessible”.

In other international funding news, Berlin-based tech company Clare&me has raised €3.7 million in funding for its clinical large language model (CLLM), underlining the company’s vision to develop non-judgemental mental health support to “close the gap between the demand and supply”.

Elsewhere, DIGITAL, a Canadian global innovation cluster for digital technologies, has announced a commitment worth an estimated $44 million to develop and deploy AI tech, with the aim of supporting healthcare providers and enhancing patient outcomes.
